Private and small group lessons are available weekly for students of all ages and ability levels. Current studio students range in age from 3yrs to 80yrs, including beginner adult students.
Students can explore diverse styles of traditional playing including bluegrass, swing, old time, Celtic, classical, and jazz using a blend of ear training and notation. We’ll introduce theory gradually and apply new concepts and techniques in useable, concrete ways. I strive to make music approachable and inclusive, and you set the pace based on your personal goals.

Private lessons are in demand and have limited availability - please inquire for openings. Private lessons are collaborative and individually tailored. Rates are $60/hour ($30/half hour).
Small group lessons give students a chance to play as an ensemble and develop musical connections with peers. Group lessons are structured by ability level and are designed to accommodate school and work schedules. Rates are $20/hour-long class.

Students will also get to join in KVMR Celtic Festival performances, busking downtown with teacher amie, and showcasing their skills at community events and concerts.
Whether we’re playing on stage or in our own backyards, we don’t stress over playing tunes perfectly - but instead, whether we’re improving, doing our best, encouraging each other, and having fun.
