Happy Hour music classes meet Wednesdays at 10am. The cost per family is $10/week, and scheduling is flexible if you’re unable to attend a session.

Classes feature rhythm games, stories, puppets, dancing, and all original songs written by teacher amie. Our classes are arranged in 6 week ‘playlists’ with lots of repetition so that songs become familiar as we jam together.

Happy Hour includes percussion games, American Sign Language, call and response singing, introductions to ear training, lots of imagination, and library books with new stories every week. The goal of Happy Hour is to facilitate a creative hour of music for our youngest musicians, their siblings, and their grown ups - and to not take ourselves too seriously.

Our playlist calendar rotates through these themes:

Animals, featuring songs about a coyote on a vision quest, grouchy butterflies, llamas who knit, a mouse wedding, monsters in our garden, and a baby narwhal who sneaks onto a pirate ship;

Foods, with tunes about farmers eating pizza, a dog with stinky breath, croissants dancing ballet, a thousand rainbow cupcakes, and a very sneaky fox;

Travel, including songs about mountain biking on the Hoot trail, ladybugs at the Yuba River, getting lost on a hike, a very busy dragonfly, and a cat who celebrates his birthday at the zoo;

More Animals, featuring a mischievous crocodile, a spirit bear on a hike, a tiny acrobatic goldfish, and an armadillo who always gets his clothes super muddy;

and Adventure, with songs about a picky pterodactyl, a dragon egg about to hatch, an escaped kangaroo, birds who take a vacation to Hawai’i, and a rhino who just needs a little TLC.

We prioritize keeping our youngest pals healthy. Happy Hour classes meet outdoors year round as weather permits, and families are asked to stay home if they feel unwell or have had a recent covid exposure.
